JMT Choreography Now Serving UK & European Cheer Programs — World-Class Coaching Across the Atlantic

JMT Choreography has always been built on one belief: great coaching and great choreography should be available to every team, regardless of where they're located. That belief has taken us from Michigan to gyms across the United States — and now firmly across the Atlantic to the United Kingdom.

If you're a UK or European cheer or dance program looking for elite-level choreography, pom and lyrical expertise, or full program development support, JMT Choreography has a dedicated team on the ground in England ready to work with you.

How JMT came to the UK

JMT founder Jason Tiede first brought his expertise to the United Kingdom when he assumed the role of Program Director for Cheer Athletics UK and head coach of Intensity Elite Cheer in the 2022-2023 season. With over two decades of All Star coaching and choreography experience behind him — including national championships, multiple Worlds appearances, and work that has reached national TV commercials and MTV — Jason's arrival in the UK marked a significant moment for the programs he joined.

What started as a single season's commitment became something much deeper. Jason's experience building programs from the ground up — he grew Intensity Elite Cheer in Michigan from 30 athletes and 4 teams to over 180 athletes and 12 teams over 8 years — translated directly to the UK market, where growing, sustaining, and elevating All Star programs faces its own unique set of challenges and opportunities.

Meet the UK team: Rachael Smart and Emily Overton

JMT's UK services are anchored by two of the most accomplished coaches and choreographers in British cheer and dance: Rachael Smart and Emily Overton, both based in England and operating through Cheer Athletics and Dance Athletics England.

Rachael Smart is a Business Owner, Program Director, Coach, Choreographer, and International Judge with over two decades in the sport. As Head Coach, Director, and Owner of Cheerforce Ten from 2009 to 2023, she led her teams to over 1,250 regional and national titles across cheer and dance. She managed Team England Freestyle Pom from 2016 to 2019, has judged internationally since 2015, and guided her teams to the ICU World Championships and a Silver Globe win at the 2022 Worlds in International Open Coed Pom. She has been recognised as BBC Midlands Coach of the Year and has received multiple industry awards for outstanding contribution to sport and coaching excellence.

Emily Overton has been training in dance since age 4, competing in cheer and dance from 2016 through 2023, and coaching at the elite level throughout. Her versatility spans ballet, modern, tap, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, commercial, pom, and cheerleading. She has represented Team England in Pom, Jazz, and Adaptive Abilities, competed at the IASF International Open Pom and Lyrical events, and earned a Silver Globe at the 2022 Worlds alongside Rachael. She currently serves as All-Star Cheer and Dance Director and Recreational Director at Cheer Athletics England. Emily's coaching philosophy is built around empowering athletes to become the best version of themselves — on and off the competition floor.

What UK and European programs get with JMT

Working with JMT in the UK isn't just access to choreography — it's access to a team that deeply understands both sides of the Atlantic. Jason brings US All Star expertise, score sheet knowledge, and program-building systems that have produced Summit and Worlds-level results. Rachael and Emily bring intimate knowledge of the UK and European competitive landscape, ICU and IASF formats, and the specific dynamics of building and sustaining cheer and dance programs in Britain.

Together, the JMT UK team offers: custom All Star and prep choreography; pom and lyrical choreography for school and All Star programs; skills camps and athlete development sessions; program director consulting including season planning, lesson plan structures, team culture development, and staff systems; and international judging expertise that gives your team an insider understanding of how scores are built.

Why UK programs are choosing JMT

Rachael Smart, Program Director at Cheer Athletics Telford, put it simply: working with JMT has been a game changer. In her words, Jason helped build effective lesson plans and full season structures that reduced stress and workload for coaching staff while bringing more consistency and confidence across the board. She noted that his choreography consistently scores in the higher ranges — and that since working with him, her program has seen real growth in both program size and athlete retention.

That kind of measurable impact — more athletes, stronger retention, higher scores, and a healthier program culture — is exactly what JMT brings to every program it partners with, on both sides of the Atlantic.
